Snowed In with You

by Heidi Stephens

I absolutely LOVED Snowed In with You!

Lucy is a fascinating character. I liked her immediately. She’s a professional, single (but not short of male attention), grieving following a devastating loss eleven years ago, has a difficult relationship with her mother…

When the chance of an all-expenses paid skiing trip with work becomes available, she really wants to go despite it being the weekend she usually spends with her parents. She feels guilty but she needs this. Little does she know…

I laughed out loud so many times throughout this story. Reading it in public was interesting!

I loved Lucy’s relationship with Jonno.

I loved the initial awkwardness between Lucy and Nate and how forced proximity leads to that awkwardness slowly dissipating.

I loved the characters they are forced to spend time with, in an Alpine bar, after an avalanche leaves them all snowed in together. Honestly, some of the funniest scenes.

I loved how Lucy eventually confronts her mother.

And I love how Lucy finally comes to her senses.

Nate is just the cutest!

Such a beautiful ending to a brilliantly written story. Heart-warming and SO funny! I can’t recommend it highly enough.

Lucy hasn’t left the country in years. In fact, she’s barely left Bristol’s city limits. So, when the opportunity presents itself to join a work trip to the Swiss Alps, she’s wary, especially when she learns that it will coincide with that weekend – the one that, eleven years ago, tore her world in two.

But how can she turn down an all-expense-paid trip to the snow-capped Alps? Lucy knows what Leo would say if he were still with her, and besides, she’ll have her work husband, Jonno, there for emotional support.

What – or who – she didn’t bank on, however, was moody (read: rude) Nate stepping in at the last minute. And what’s worse, they’re the only two in the group who don’t ski, so they’re stuck with each other . . . up the side of a mountain in the middle of a snowstorm.

With the weather closing in, an avalanche leaves them snowbound in an alpine bar with an eclectic cast of fellow refugees. But with roaring log fires and steaming mugs of glühwein (and maybe a shot or two of Jägermeister), it’s a chance for Lucy and Nate to discover there might be more to one another than meets the eye.

Where will their mountainside adventure leave them when the snow finally melts?

Reluctant Bride’s Baby Bombshell

by Rachael Stewart

I make no secret of the fact that I love Rachael Stewart’s books and this one is no exception.
I have absolutely loved being whisked away to the Australian outback with Eve and Nate! 😍
Picture this, you meet someone in a bar, the chemistry between you is undeniable and you share an amazing night together. Two consenting adults, neither wanting anything more, the chances of seeing each other again unlikely. Or so you thought….
Just brilliant!
The heat between these two is almost palpable! I was rooting for them from the start.
The unusual clause in Eve’s father’s will intrigued me. Eve’s opinion on that is perfectly justified. I enjoyed this aspect of the story. I think it makes it quite unique.
I loved the relationships Eve shares with her sisters too.
Another beautiful story from the very lovely @rachaelstewart3 ❤️
All the stars from me!

Things I Wanted To Say by Monica Murphy

Things I Wanted To Say

by Monica Murphy

This book was gifted to me from a lovely Bookstagram friend for my Birthday last year. It’s nothing like my usual kind of read and if I’m honest I wasn’t sure I was going to like it at first.

The main characters are 17-year-old American students, Whit and Summer. Whit has been born into a wealthy family and is in line to inherit a fortune. He struts around like he owns the school, and pretty much does. He’s a handsome lad and everyone bows down to him, but he’s not a particularly nice boy. And he is a boy, but with the confidence of a much more experienced man. I didn’t like him at all to begin with. His behaviour towards Summer is shocking, although I could kind of understand his animosity towards her mother. The bullying at the beginning made for uncomfortable reading at times. It takes ‘treat them mean, keep them keen’ to a whole new level!

The chemistry between them is obvious from the start though. However, I have no idea why Summer puts up with the way Whit treats her. I know they say some girls love a bad boy, but oh my days! She’s got her own past she’s battling to recover from, but she’s a beautiful girl who deserves so much better. Does she want better though!?

Their relationship soon becomes one of obsession and they can’t get enough of each other. (This is a very explicit book so it might not be for you if you’re offended by that kind of content.) Summer isn’t good enough for Whit though, according to his family. She isn’t marriage material, and they have his future mapped out for him, so she can only ever be a temporary plaything as far as they’re concerned. Whit has other plans though….

He grew on me eventually 😉

I found myself completely invested in their story!

** Many thanks to @mama_bookworm_ for my paperback copy. Hope you enjoy it. I see I sent it to you for your Birthday too! **

Whit Lancaster is the cold, heartless and devastatingly handsome bad boy at Lancaster Prep.

Beautiful Summer Savage has no time for Whit. But his intense gaze traps her under a spell. Fills her with a longing she doesn’t understand.

When Whit gets into trouble one night, Summer invites him in. Tends to his wounds. Lets her guard down, just for a moment . . .

Which is when Whit takes off in the dead of night. Taking her journal with him.

Now he holds all her darkest secrets, threatening to expose her to the entire school. So Summer strikes a deal with Whit.

A deal that leaves her at his mercy behind closed doors . . .

But what if he’s at hers?
