My review
Blood Contest is an excellent start to a new series. I read it whilst on holiday in the Isle of Wight, last week, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Detective Pete Mueller finds himself investigating the murder of the governor’s son. He was killed in front of his two young daughters on Christmas Day. I can’t even imagine the trauma that would cause the family, the daughters especially. The girls identify a woman, but the evidence points elsewhere. The truth, as it is revealed, is both shocking and sad.
This is a fast paced read with many a twist and turn. Interesting characters and an intriguing plot made it difficult to put down.
