I’m very pleased to let you know that Stephen Seabridge will be the first Poet Laureate of Stoke-on-Trent. Stephen, who grew up in Sneyd Green, is a poet and PHD creative writing student at Keele University. You can find out more about him, and about the post, here:

Stephen’s first official appearance will be at the Festival in a Factory event at the Emma Bridgewater factory on Friday 8 June, 2pm. He will be appointed to the post by the Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, and there will be readings and discussion from Stephen and two other local laureates.
