Stoke-on-Trent Poet Laureate
Calling all poets! Stoke-on-Trent City Council and Stoke-on-Trent Libraries are now taking applications for the two-year post, which will see the successful candidate writing poems to commission, reading or performing poetry in public and working with local poetry and community groups. The competition is open to anyone aged 18 and above who has a passion for poetry and lives, works or studies in the city.
The deadline for applications is January 31.

Postcard Poets

City Central Library, Hanley
You may have seen some of the beautiful poetry postcards, produced by Poetry On Loan and available in libraries. We’re very pleased that three of the poets whose work is featured on these postcards – Jonny Fluffypunk, Simon Fletcher and Dave Reeves – will read and perform at City Central Library. With their variety of performance and poetry styles, this will be an enjoyable and entertaining start to our Spring programme.

6X6 Reading Café
Tuesday 13 March, 7pm
City Central Library
As the ever-popular 6X6 Reading Café enters its third year, six more writers will read their work for a maximum of six minutes each.
