The Break Up

Tilly Tennant has done it again! I absolutely adore Tilly’s writing and I have adored The Break Up.

Lara a single lady with her own wedding planning business which she runs from a summer house in her back garden. I LOVED this! If only I was brave enough to start my own business from my back garden. She is quite the inspiration. Employing just one assistant, Betsy (who is adorable), she has built up a successful business. Some of their clients are hilarious, others just genuinely lovely.

Lara is a likeable character, although she did frustrate me at times. In a good way though, as she is very real. She often overthinks things which I think is quite typical of anyone who has been through a break up such as hers. Her ex, Lucian, left her for her best friend. I’m pretty sure this would mess with my head also and leave me struggling to trust anyone again.

Lucian is a slimy character. I’m not sure what she ever saw in him really and I reckon he did her a favour in the long run. She still has the one true love of her life anyway, her cat, Fluffy!

Fluffy’s wandering ways lead her to meet Theo, who turns out to be a VERY likeable character. Their relationship goes from icy cold to hot and heavy and back again. A real rollercoaster romance which makes this book a highly entertaining read. The two of them have a quick temper, but the chemistry between them is undeniable. I did want to bang their heads together at times, but only because they are obviously made for each other. I was routing for them the whole time.

If you love a romance with plenty of drama, and amusing moments, you will love this book. I love it when a book leaves me with big smile on my face and this one most certainly did that.
