A Christmas Romance cover

I have absolutely LOVED this story! I just wish I could have devoured it in one sitting.

I did finish it quite late last night, despite needing to be at work for 8.30 this morning, as I just had to find out if the ending was as happy as I’d hoped. Let’s just say I wasn’t disappointed. 🙂

Having said that this is far from a straight forward boy meets girl and they live happily ever after love story. Never have I ever wanted to bang two heads together as much as I did through part of this story. Why people have to faff about instead of being honest about their feelings, I don’t know! I know it’s fiction, but people are often like this in real life and don’t always see what’s staring them in the face and I really felt like I connected with these characters. I so wanted them to find happiness.Their drama made for an entertaining read!

I instantly warmed to Frankie, and almost all of the other characters to be honest. I found Frankie’s Mum’s story sad, and quite frightening, especially as she’s only a few years older than my Mum. Heart-warming though also. I don’t know who Roux is based on, but he is just gorgeous!

Little Perran sounds like a lovely place to live. I could totally imagine myself part of that kind of community where everyone knows everyone and all look out for each other. I quite fancied nipping to the Hand and Shears for a glass of wine.

This is so beautifully written and is full of characters I loved. Set in a beautiful village at the most magical time of year. A story of friendship, family, love, heart-break, Christmas traditions, misunderstandings, new romance and cake competitions! What more do you need from a Christmas romance? I highly recommend! Book 2 has already been downloaded to my kindle.

Romance is the last thing on Frankie Bell’s mind as she gets ready for Christmas in the English village of Little Perran. It’s going to be a quiet affair once the annual Great Little Perran Christmas Bake Off cake competition is over, with Frankie, and her little dog Buster, tucked up warmly in Primrose Cottage. Fate, however, has other plans and Little Perran is thrown into turmoil when the film star, Roux Lockhart, comes to stay.

The spirit of the season weaves its magic and a freak snow storm that blows in a surprise visitor. Frankie discovers love from an unexpected quarter, but can she trust it? And is someone cheating with their Christmas cake?

A delightful Christmas love story to be enjoyed with a mug of hot chocolate and a roaring log fire.
